Morning yoga in bed

This 5 -10 minute sequence will give you a positive and mindful start in your day. The following yoga postures are very easy, soft and they can be performed right in your bed.

Today I would like to show you my little morning yoga routine. This 5 -10 minute sequence will give you a positive and mindful start in your day. The following yoga postures are very easy, soft and they can be performed right in your bed.

Seated side bend

  • Sit upright with your legs crossed
  • Exhale and lift one arm above your head, looking onto your fingers
  • Breathe deep and stretch your arm to the opposite side. Your back should remain straight
  • Enjoy the stretch on your lower back and repeat on the other side

Cat-Cow

  • Witch an inhale lower your belly and simultaneously lift your tailbone up
  • Gaze up
  • Elbows are straight and shoulder wide apart
  • With an exhale round your back, draw your navel towards your spine and tuck your tailbone in
  • Lower your head and tuck your chin towards your chest

Childspose

  • Separate your hips about as wide as your hips
  • Touch your big toes together
  • With an exhale lay your upper body between your thighs
  • Breathe deep and relax

Note

Any activity in the morning can be a difficulty for the body, as it is just waking up and usually very stiff. Remember that you won´t have a perfect yoga shape in the morning. This is the reason why I decided to actually take the photos right after I have woken up. This is my body in the morning. Far away from splits or perfect yoga stretches. But I accept it and so should you. Don´t push into poses. Move with awareness and relax, because this is what morning yoga sequences are here for. This is also a good opportunity to manifest positive thoughts and intentions for the day 🙂
