What we do on a daily basis is being repeated over and over again and then ultimately becomes our life. That´s why it is so vital for our health, such as our personal growth and happiness that we have positive and healthy habits and things that we do every day that will make us grow into a better version of ourselves. Here are my 8 healthy habits that I try to include into my everyday routine.

1. Wake up early

The ancient yogis said, that waking up with the sun is gonna give you lots and lots of energy and I totally agree with this. Even if you are not a morning person, try to use the mornings to get the hardest task of the day done. When you wake up and get your coffee, that´s when your mind is clear. In the morning you feel fresh, therefore you have the highest ability to focus.

Besides, it is pretty self-explanatory that, when you wake up early you get the most out of your day. Set your alarm clock on a decent time, like 6 or 7 am and get up. Trust me, it will make wonders to your productivity.

2. Meditate

Are you a workaholic? Do you love to work and you feel unproductive if you are not working? I get you, girl, I am the same. We all love the hurry, BUT, try to stop and be still for few minutes of the day.

I am a huge fan of meditation. I love to meditate for about 10 minutes a day. It is so beneficial and healthy for one’s mental well-being and stress levels. This has several reasons:

  • Meditation will help you get some stillness and get a better touch with your true self
  • This is the time where you can set positive intentions and thoughts for your day
  • It will help you bring more awareness into your day

3. Exercise

Move your body every day and get those endorphins going! Exercising is so good because your body produces endorphins while working out and you will feel so satisfied afterward. Not mad about free happy pills 🙂 But don´t worry, you don´t have to workout at the gym every single day if you don´t like it. Even going for a walk with the dog, doing fun activities with friends or a yoga practice will make such a difference to your well-being.

4. Nourish your body right

“Eating a clean and healthy diet is a form of self-respect”. I totally agree with this saying. Self-love comes from within and one way to practice it is by eating whole, clean foods. Because, if you love yourself enough, you will eat only good food, you will exercise and you most certainly won´t put toxins into your body.

Think of it that way: If you had a baby, you would feed it the most nourishing food, in order to keep it as healthy and happy, as possible. Because of love and caring. So, why wouldn´ t you wanna nourish yourself as healthy as well?

5. Do something for your soul

Try to do something you love each day. Paint, sing, be creative, catch up with your friends, watch a movie, bake or dance, but take time off your day to do something for your soul.

6. Journal

This is one of my favorites because it has literally changed my life. Go out and buy yourself a notebook. Every day, take some time to write down thoughts, ideas, plans, visions, manifestations and even “To do” lists. It has helped me so much with my personal growth because I can see my progress throughout the time that I have been writing, which has been over one year now. I do lists for everything, write down creative ideas and sometimes even poems.

7. Pamper yourself once a week

As much as I think helping others is the key to happiness, we often forget to look after ourselves, as well. After all, we have the greatest power to help, if we are totally in harmony with ourselves first.

So, pamper yourself ones in a while. I love to take one day out of the week, let´s say Sunday, to eat whatever I want, to take a bath, to do my face mask and to prepare myself for the next week.

8. Be grateful

Last, but definitely not least, is to be grateful. We always tend to strive for new things, we want this and we want that. But:

“The secret to having it all is knowing you already do.”

We have so much to be grateful for in life. Right now, be thankful to live in a country, where you have a roof over your head and where you don´t have to fight for your life every day. Be thankful for the food you eat, the people you have in your life, etc.

A good way to practice gratefulness is to reflect on your day right before you go to bed. Think about 3 things, which you were thankful for today and write them down in a notebook. I do this too and whenever I am feeling down I look at those things and I instantly feel blessed.
